Introduction to Quadratics

The transformations in the equation that is in Vertex form are:

                                 a(x-h)^2+k

• "a" represents the Vertcal Stretch(narrow graph) or the Compression(wide graph) of the graph

• (-)"a"- if the "a" value is negative then the Direction of Opening will be down and if "a" is a positive, then the Direction of Opening will be up

• the "h" in Vertex form represents the Horizontal Translation left or right

• the "k" in Vertex form represents the Vertcal Translation up or down
